Manifold – late model (aftermarket) with block off plate, manifold gasket not included.
Original factory manifolds were produced in two different types; those with exhaust openings only in the reversing gear end and those with openings on both ends. The double-ended manifolds accommodated engines with “V-drives” and other boats which had exhaust systems that exited the vessel other than through the transom.
We made the decision to produce all our aftermarket manifolds in the double-ended style so that they will fit any Atomic 4 engine in the fleet, thereby alleviating any confusion as to what style of manifold would be needed on any particular engine.
Our LM aftermarket manifolds will also fit early model engines. However, LM manifolds are not machined to accommodate a flanged fitting on the front end, so the original cross over tube will need to be replaced with a flexible tube like the ones used in our early model cross-over tube replacement kit.
While there were never any official factory torque values for the exhaust flange or manifold block off plate, we recommend 20 ft. lbs. Torque values for the manifold studs are 25 ft. lbs. as per our Moyer Marine Service and Overhaul Manual.
